The Good Times Are Killing Me
This past weekend was quite eventful. Saturday was Record Store Day, a holiday for all vinyl geeks and collectors. Needless to say, I am one of those and I indulged heavily. My day kicked off at about noon and stretched until the wee wee hours.
My first stop of the day was Euclid Records where I caught a performance by John Doe (X!!) & Jill Sobule.
Me, Chelsea, & Ben show our excitement over our finds.
Double the Donna Summer, double the fun!
After devouring some sandwiches from a great little deli spot called Fozzie's Sandwich Emporium (S. Big Bend), I headed home to nap before heading out to my friends Sara and Jenny's dirty thirty throw down at the Waiting Room bar in St. Ann.
Jenny & Sara
Dan, Jenny, & Adam
Next, I headed off to Apop Records to close out Record Store Day with more record shopping and some hardcore punk rock courtesy of Defect Defect and Canadian Rifle.
Tiffany from Apop don't like cameras.
Tom being a sexy beast
Defect Defect
Canadian Rifle
I made my way back to the birthday party following the show and called it a day sometime around 3am.
Sunday afternoon was all about Mix Tape Club. Mix Tape Club is something we do once a month. Everyone who makes a mix tape, gets a mix tape. We throw names in a hat and draw. This months club took place at Tower Grove Park and a good time was had by all.
Tapes
Eleanor, Luc, Jeremy, & Eric
Bryan
Martin
After Mix Tape Club, I headed up to the Firebird to catch Bass Drum of Death.
